The richest Fashion in 2013 named
Sir Philip Green and Weston family were called again one of the richest fashion, as the Sunday
Times this weekend. The annual British Rich List was released yesterday.
George and Galen Weston - the interests of the Selfridges and Primark and Fortnum & Mason -
was 11 placed in the overall list, with a combined family wealth of £ 6650000000 - up to £ 750
million in 2012. It was also a good 12 months for Sir Philip Green, owner of Empire Arcadia,
whose fortune grew £ 580 million for a total of £ 3.88 billion - making it 16 in the list. The
businessman recently sold a 25 per cent in the Topshop and Topman brands to a U.S. private
equity firm, and began preparations for the first branch in Hong Kong - the go-ahead for major
expansion plans China.
Sir Richard Branson and his family came out of the 19, a value of 3.51 billion pounds (up to £
100 million in 2012), author JK Rowling has followed in 20th place, worth $ 580 million, while
Christina Ong - the a majority stake in Mulberry has - came in 126th Place with an estimated
net worth 700 million pounds, down 508 million pounds from the previous year.
Other famous names to make the list again this year: Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell
(worth € 680 million), the Queen (worth £ 320 million), Sir Paul Smith (worth £ 280 million ),
Simon Cowell (worth £ 250 million), and David and Victoria Beckham (a value of 200 million
pounds sterling).
