The proof of the production of luxury textiles and recovery of copper from an unknown part of the Cypriot Bronze Age City

A Swedish archaeological Miu Miu bag expedition from the University of Gothenburg has an unknown part of the Bronze Age city of Hala Sultan Tekke (about 1600-1100 BC) excavated . The results are a center for copper mining and production of bronzes, evidence for the production of luxury textiles and ceramics and other imported objects around the Mediterranean , but also in Central Europe . "One of our conclusions is that the culture of the Bronze Age in Hala Sultan Tekke has played a central role in the eastern Mediterranean . Cyprus has served as an important hub not only for the region but also for longer -distance trade . We have also recognized that the city greater than previously thought , "says Peter Fischer , professor of Cypriot archeology at the University of Gothenburg. Hala Sultan Tekke is located near the airport of Larnaca , on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus and covers about 25-50 acres , making it one of the largest cities in the Bronze Age Mediterranean region. In 2010, Peter Fischer and his team of archaeologists and students have continued the excavations of the city, which were made in the 1970s by former Professor Fischer , professor Paul Åström . The recently excavated part of the city was in 2012, with ground radar, an electromagnetic device that can "see" what is discovered in the soil to a depth of about two meters. The method also allows for an archaeological tomographic image a limited space under the surface. "This summer we discovered a residential area with facilities for the extraction of copper from copper ore and copper slag. We found the remains of furnaces and about 300 pounds of ore and slag. In a side room , we also found evidence for the production of purple fabrics who were among the most valuable assets during the Bronze Age. In addition to the copper extraction plant , archaeologists residential areas, where they also found a number of interesting objects , such as ceramics locally produced high quality ceramics and Mycenae ( Greece today ) and the Levant exposed ( the countries of the Mediterranean ) . The results are a complete pin decorated with bronze, probably from northern Italy or in central Europe around 1200 BC, a ceramic bowl decorated with Egypt imported representation ceramic cylinder seal hunters and warriors and figures of men / gods and animals. All discoveries can be dated to the period 1400-1175 BC. " The results underscore the mobility of the Bronze Age far beyond their immediate surroundings . Their connections with Greece , Turkey, Egypt and the Levant may not come as a surprise , but they are of Italy and Central Europe and North very exciting. These findings lend strength to the hypothesis that most migration takes place around 1200 BC , the peoples of the so-called Sea . Recent analysis of the Swedish bronze objects from this period , Johan Ling reader ( lecturer) at the University of Gothenburg suggest that the bronze was imported from Cyprus out , "Fischer says . For four seasons, Peter Fischer led the New Swedish Cyprus Expedition . The expedition will follow in spring 2014. The excavation team in 2013 consisted of 24 professional archeologists and students from Sweden, Austria , Cyprus, Germany , the Netherlands, Iceland , Miu Miu outlet Italy, Poland , Switzerland and Jordan .
