Louis Vuitton takes a dip in a hot day two of the men's fashion

The second day of the Men's Spring-Summer 2013 show was all about the heat.

The temperature rose as high as a house, Issey Miyake, even decided to wet ice bag on the creators of the first series to distribute.

The label is known for its common functionality with fashion insiders a special time on Thursday.

It was the return home of its founder, 74-year-old retired men's fashion in 1994.

Miyake Japanese, who made a name for himself in the clothes-based technology to cool models by dressing them in paper form allowed.

Indicates the day of the other big donors include Louis Vuitton - one of the most lucrative brands in the world.

It was a matter for the slick menswear designer Kim Jones, who got his feet wet with cold water drawings.

The London Graduate Fashion has quickly made a name for themselves for luxurious yet tasteful designs.

Meanwhile, designers injected from the Netherlands, Dutch duo Viktor & Rolf and Belgian Dries Van Noten, the day with an edgy attitude.

Workshop will include performances Friday Gustavolins and Givenchy.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Kim Jones presents a tribute Gateway sent and confident for the active man

There was something for boaters, sportsmen, anglers - and even Safari Explorers - a collection of eminently wearable and large-scale sporting elegance.

Would it be that Jones, who attempted only in his third race of men as a designer for the house, Louis Vuitton CEO Yves Carcelle, a craft fanatic to impress?

"I think so," Jones said backstage.

What ever the reason it's a recipe for success.

Fischer paired Macs yellow with navy pants and white leather boat shoes relaxed on a single message is clear: We are nautical, but nice.

A laser-cut gray jacket was a mannequin wearing a cheeky anchor earring.

A life jacket in quilted leather: Another room, one of the most beautiful collection would certainly contribute to a model stranded at sea.

The show was also for a safari, then the track is fitted.

A number of sentences in tight khaki top dive that broke the model seen in a sprint, has merged.

Jones goal was to remove a "relaxed and gentle" collection.

Knowing that too much exercise can be bad for your health, he allowed his men, was some R & R on the Riviera as a series of beautiful costumes of silk box.

The program notes cited carelessness in the south of France.

It is Jones, who perhaps deserves a break.

To rest on their laurels - with some strong collections under his belt, he can - until the next season.

Issey Miyake MEN

Issey Miyake collection marks the return of the Japanese designers at the helm of a show creativity in men's fashion clothing made, incredibly, almost entirely of paper.

Understatement is an art form in Japan and the art work behind the scenes in the clothes Miyake tribute to this tradition.

In recent months, the design team carefully Issey Miyake learned the technique of collage secular washi paper, knitting and making cloth. Your teacher - an old Japanese lady - is to survive the only expert in the tradition.

Bulky covers, but steep and jackets in black and white charcoal and submitted to the vent at the Paris Salon. Cold their stiffness of the starch was achieved by the binding of paper with rayon before laminating the surface.

Oversized ponchos with knee-length pants, sporting yellow markings had been achieved by cutting paper into thin strips, then turn to make subject. Apparently they are fully washable.

It was a shame that the designers have added another theme in the mix: Cycling.

Several models have packs that crushed the top paper to bike path on bicycles. The diversion was the only sport that has otherwise taken a transparent manner.

Flashes of bright red and cobalt blue in cool shirts and V-neck recalled it was summer, but it was hardly necessary, immersed in the Parisian atmosphere.

DRIES VAN NOTES

Dries Van Noten is a man of contradictions.

No show demonstrates better than his menswear collection for Thursday surprisingly spring-summer of 2013.

Camouflage print on shorts, pants, shirts and jackets presents - even on tape.

He made the models look like they should run and hide.

Then fencing gear - such as quilted jackets white breastplate with lapel and Velcro-sword to the test - said: "I am ready for the attack."

There was no middle silhouettes were either unstructured and loose or tight and custom.

The colors are either muted or excused flashes of electric blue, orange, ocher and canary.

One set had everything: a see-through fencing jacket in blue and white with a horizontal band of camouflage.

To make the confusion complete the symphony, the T-shirt was paired with a pure conflict with thick plaid pants check.

There were some who see very negotiable: a tendency oversized black sweater, knit blue and gray - a nod back to the 1980s - is sure to be a success.

Another extremely simple gray tank top and matching baggy was pure elegance.

So with such a strong collection - and all of its camouflage - to conceal what the designer?

"I am not hiding from anything," said Van Noten backstage with confidence. "That's why I put on a white bridge."

MR VIKTOR & ROLF

Viktor and Rolf created a dynamic show with a touch of India - the mixture of colors and silhouettes of the subcontinent, signed with their jerseys.

For the design duo very Western, with headquarters in Amsterdam, the seems like a Middle unlikely place to go.

"We were pleased in the mood for something spiritual, dress and India .... We are the opposition," said Viktor Horsting backstage.

The case was certainly more than Slumdog Millionaire with wool-silk silhouettes in the burnt orange, deep red, peach and sparkling tone of the glass wall of the Bollywood style.

Oriental influence had softened their stance normally strict dress in costume. They were less than in previous seasons built.

A soft striped suit had a sense of rich Indian clothing.

In other respects, the jackets were worn with Jodhpur pants - Indian clothing in Europe, Queen Victoria imported - to create subtle silhouettes carrot-shaped.

The skirmishes with India, however, was short-lived.

The bulk of the collection was an interesting variation of the very European feel to rafters. He presented signed in jacquards for tuxedo jackets and suits for light wool by hand.

If the party is over, after all, you always risk the house.

trends: the high charity shop

Although a clear-out wardrobe could mean for most of us a trip to Oxfam binbags with a few if you're a multimillionaire and fashion muse, we need a little help to a place in his cabinet.

But that's not exactly why Daphne Guinness, heiress to the fortune of beer and granddaughter of Diana Mitford, a selection of 102 of their own clothes, coats, shoes and jerseys donated to Christie where they are auctioned next week.

Two years ago, stopped Guinness, 44, the planned sale of the late Isabella Blow wardrobe by buying at Christie's collection in its entirety. She said then that would be the fragmentation of the fashion editor, stylist and muse property "bloodbath" to be.

"It gives me enormous satisfaction," she said yesterday at Christie, "that my seemingly impetuous decision to buy the entire collection of Isabelle is now clearly going to make some wrongs right."

The proceeds will go to the foundation created Isabella Blow, a charity organization of Guinness, the young artists and designers, and promoting research on issues of depression and mental health supports to go. So, who died in 2007, to have helped with, credited with the talents of designer Alexander McQueen and milliner Philip Treacy, including diet. His personal work has some of the most important designers of Great Britain.

Blow-Coat was developed by Guinness, in the years since his death. She was an artist, model, perfumer and creator of the small circle of women who buy designer clothes are designed by the likes of Chanel, Dior and Balenciaga and support young designers in London and the collection of their work.

Characterized by its unconventional platinum and black striped beehive, Guinness catchy dresses in a way, and sometimes a little gothic. Lady Gaga once described it as a blow, and "exceptional" icons and soul mates. But most parts are under the hammer during its early years, before she had honed her personal aesthetic.

A purple to go structured A-line dress by Christian Dior, estimated for 1000 pounds, was a popular piece for Guinness late 20s, while a lemon yellow satin dress, and hide blister Christian Lacroix was the first song they sew've ever bought, in 1987 . There are several pieces by Alexander McQueen before his death, created in 2010 - a pair of black leather boots is estimated at 2,500 pounds, and two clothes worth about £ 20 000 each - and one pair of heel-Guinness brands shoes Noritaka Tatehana that lasted over eight months to do. Entry level prices start at around £ 250 for a dress from Givenchy and Valentino skirt suit.

The collection auctioned Guinness is also surprising how diverse - because of its reputation as an extreme nervousness, are most of the songs more accessible than you might imagine, and they show a marked change in his personal style over the years, a timeless classic of the vilest characters.

"The clothes are designer really important," says fashion and textile specialist Clare Christie Borthwick, "and they embody the spirit of Daphne. Parts of the great houses will still be a good investment to be, but I always advise people, things perceive that they love, because you need every day and you can not always guarantee that the money makes in the future to watch. "

Funding that is by selling an estimated 100,000 pounds, McQueen is dedicated to the care and maintenance of the extensive collection of blow which is to go on show at London's Central Saint Martins design college, the alma mater, later this year. "The best thing is that [the collection of impact] can see and touch and get to the next generation of talent," said Guinness.

But realize also the suppliers of diamond studded pens and leather jackets $ 3,500, they need to create a clientele that goes beyond the super-rich if they win in the region want to be successful.
New middle class

"The real opportunity is the emergence of new middle class," says Claudia D'Arpizio, a partner at Bain's leading luxury products consulting practice.

In 2020 420.000 South African households have a disposable income, which overcomes $ 100,000, Bain says. To the resale value of luxury goods in the country where the World Bank says nearly a quarter of the population live below the poverty line, will be sold to swell by 20 percent to 816 million per year by 2015, estimates € Monitor International. As the African market is developing, Burberry will look "absolutely" to expand in the region, said Chief Executive Angela Ahrendts May "The teams are constantly reviewing the market on the rise and as a partner is available."
Bling King

In Morocco, "it shows too much about the label, while in developed markets, it is, if anything, the opposite," said Fflur Roberts, global head of luxury goods research € monitor. In large parts of Africa, "Bling's still king." Private consumption is set to rise over 54 percent of 2011-2020 in the country, according to Euro monitor.

The infrastructure is the biggest obstacle for the industry, according to Ford Oxford Analytica. Nigeria is the second highest gain of the total volume of champagne leak in France 2011-2016, estimates € headed monitor. But with four times as many people as Johannesburg, Lagos, only a handful of shopping centers has during the South African city has scores.

Companies should assess the risk of expanding their reputation in parts of the continent. Fueled by oil exports to China, Angola is "The Crucible" of conspicuous consumption in Africa, but according to Ford, is the wealth in few hands, and a quarter of the gross revenue of the country is not recognized, Ford estimates.

Angola, he said, "is like a laboratory" for the acute income inequality. "So far it has not led to social unrest, or at least while targeting shops, but it is certainly" a possibility.

International Fashion and Style: Resort 2013 ... Ricci .. Pucci .. Gucci

Mesdame, gentlemen, Signore e Signori, ladies and gentlemen!

Nina Ricci Resort 2013
It is a refreshing collection of Peter Copping for the venerable brand. Rarely have we run across a

collection that do not really need an explanation, and it is more or less explicitly. Mrs. Ricci's

definitely young, fit, something a little retro, confident and above all, bohemian, she appreciates the

original design. The words come to mind are fresh, "fuzzy," sweet, pretty and ethereal. Mr. Copping teases

us with some custom parts, but focuses on the ultra-feminine side of fashion with the use of tabs,

georgette and jersey, the soft palette and quieter side of sex appeal.

Emilio Pucci
Peter Dundas has been working hard to restore the brand in the arena of luxury fashion. Although I was not

a believer at first, I came here to the brand in its new incarnation as a sexy and much younger than the

original jersey Pucci dresses that look set to the mark on the fashion map. My question about this

collection is, "what were you thinking?" Yes, the collection is pretty, yes, it is commercial, it seems so

much like St Laurent warmed up, and yes, there is an indefinable group of very generic. The prints are

forgettable, as the pieces are too hard and customized themes and the only thing that caught my attention

were the caftans.

Geek Chic: When Fashion Meets Technology

Since the lycra pants that were fashionable at the Starship Enterprise, visions of what we carry in the future, often to ridiculous.

Hidden from portable music players LED collars to clothing with sensors and son, it's all a little crazy, catering for a perceived gap in the market, which often does not need filling.

For a future of fashion lies not in design, but intelligent textiles.

And it does not take much smarter than the approach of the designer Suzanne Lee, who literally grows her own clothes to get.
Tissue Fermentation

They came up with the idea, find a book about the modern look in 50 years.

"I had a conversation with a biologist who raised the idea of growing a garment in a lab," she told the BBC.

In his studio in London, she is doing just that.

With a recipe for green tea, sugar, yeast and bacteria, it is able to "grow" a material she describes as a "vegetable leather".

The material takes about two weeks to develop and can be folded around a form - she made a dress out of the traditional model of a tailor, but handbags and furniture are also possibilities.

Alternatively, they can be dried and cut and sewn in the traditional way.

Currently, the material is biodegradable and after five years, is unacceptable hardship and decay.

"At this point, can you compost it down with all your vegetable peelings other," said Ms. Lee.

The fact that the material is cheap to make, cut a large number of processes associated with making clothes and is environmentally friendly, ie it has already attracted interest from several apparel manufacturers worldwide.

"The fashion and textile industry is desperate to reduce their carbon footprint, looking for materials that are sustainable," she said.

The next step will be to find a way to keep clothes longer.

"To where should it be to get with some cutting-edge science, but to be with the right financing in place, it has the potential for a radical alternative to the traditional textiles," she said.

Operating Engineers

Although computer-aided design and design (CADD) is not a new technology, it is rare in the fashion world has been used previously, but French designer Julien Fournie wants to change that.

Mr. Fournier began to work in the fashion industry such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, but these days it is more likely found hanging with the engineers with the fashionistas.

He joined with engineers from Dassault Systemes, a French software company that creates 3D models in general for the automotive and aerospace industries.

The engineers decided they could turn to software design, sketches, Mr. Fournier in his next collection.

"At first I was like a lab rat, many engineers and geeks around me. But they heard that I need to find solutions. They filmed my work habits, she wanted to know how I can do," he said.

Mr. Fournie recently experimented with making clothes neoprene, a type of rubber.

It is a difficult material to work and seamstresses Mr. Fournier suggested that embroider the only way, it would be to use glue.

"In my opinion, a very sexy dress does not hold," he said.

So he handed the problem to engineers.

"The correct pressure for the needle so that it were not against the rules," he said.

The software can also work as you drape some cloth, eliminating the need for costly experiments with the real thing.

"Before I got to the front, rear and side windows feature is used, and it was difficult. Now I can sketch out properly in 3D. I have to test a digital library of fabric and I can explore new shapes and silhouettes.

I'm like a kid with a new toy, "he said.

Fashionlab also working on a "magic mirror" that could potentially be used in stores in shopping streets, so people can see a virtual image of themselves in different outfits.

"A business can have a magical mirror with a personal avatar that can use your exact measurements to show you how new clothes would be on," said Jérôme Bergeret, director Fashionlab.

He admits that the project is still in its infancy, and perhaps three to five years before it becomes reality.

The user can start on the drawing board of a designer, but it ends up on the high street, and here the effects of technology are going to have to date been mostly negative.

Online retailers are nibbling at the High Street and stop shops, retailers are looking for technology to help customers in our stores.

Fashion at the event in the future Westfield shopping center in West London, buyers recently got an insight into how businesses can use the technology in the coming years to adopt.

In addition to tweets and Facebook mirrors stalls, so that customers share their purchases on social networks, consumers were also invited to create their own "mood boards" with a huge touchscreen.

"This technology allows us to give the property back to the buyers, they can organize their own collections," said Ryan Myf, Westfield's head of marketing.

But while consumers and retailers said they liked the technology at the show, she admits that Westfield is no long-term commitment is such gimmicks.

The stores are still in the process, as they look to the future, she said.

"The technology is irreversibly change the habits of traditional shopping streets."

"The question is how to take advantage of the digital environment and a more pleasant environment for bricks and mortar buyers"

Gucci Set To Open Southwest China Flagship In Chongqing

Two-Story, 800 Square Meter Flagship To Open June 18

The mega-metropolis may have been in the news more for political controversy and intrigue than business over the past several months, but on June 18 the massive Chinese municipality of Chongqing — larger than Taiwan and nearly as populous as Canada — will see the opening of Gucci’s southwest China flagship. Covering 800 square meters and two floors, the new location at Golden Eagle Shopping Center will stock the full Gucci collection of leathergoods, footwear, apparel, accessories and children’s clothing for the “Little Emperor.”

Coming just a year after Chongqing’s much-hyped and ultimately ill-fated “red revival,” perhaps never before has the moniker “Gucci Maoists” been so apt.

Three years in the making, according to Chongqing media, the new location will be the centerpiece of the mall’s new section, the remainder of which is still under construction and will open to the public by the end of the year. With 15,000 square meters of interior space, the new seven-floor section at Golden Eagle will include a new MUJI location in the basement, while a new Omega store and the two-story Gucci flagship will sit on the ground floor and a number of restaurants, bars and wine stores will fill the upper floors. Located near Chongqing’s Maison Mode shopping center, where Louis Vuitton opened a sprawling flagship last summer, Golden Eagle is also situated near the famous Jiefang Bei (解放碑) Pedestrian Street, likely a motivation for Gucci to build its second Chongqing location (after Starlight Place) there.

As major luxury brands have expanded into China’s interior, tapping growing high-end spending among consumers in second-, third- and (increasingly) fourth-tier cities, Chongqing has become the de facto luxury hub of the country’s southwest. As Xinmin (Chinese) put it last year:

As the only municipality in western China, Chongqing’s GDP is among the highest in the country. In terms of luxury consumption, Chongqing’s famous beauties are driving sales: revenue at Chongqing’s Armani boutique are the highest in the country; Burberry sales have surpassed Shanghai and Beijing; in addition, every year many Chongqingese fly to Europe or Hong Kong for shopping sprees.

According to recent rankings on retail investment attractiveness in Asia, Chongqing came out sixth. “As southwest China’s main city, Chongqing’s consumer behavior and purchasing power are very strong. Luxury goods are sure to see a breakthrough there,” said a representative from the Chongqing Economic Commission. Recently, the Asia-Pacific president of LVMH, the world’s largest luxury goods group, traveled to Chongqing to discuss a timeline for entering the market.

Chongqing residents spend thousands on limited-edition Tourbillon watches, they’re familiar with top brands, and they understand the meaning of “haute couture” and “made by hand.” What’s more, rapid economic development has given Chongqing a great amount of potential as a city of consumers. But Chongqing has unique characteristics: it’s trendy, but not trendsetting; occasionally provocative, but not extravagant; Chongqing residents go against the common wisdom of economists, remaining indifferent to conspicuous consumption. In Chongqing, the elegant and the vulgar coexist.

French campaign fights counterfeit fashion

PARIS — Below the steps of Paris' Sacre Coeur church, four sellers of fake Dior sunglasses run off past a group of tourists.

"The police came, so they ran," said kiosque worker Nicole Barsky. "It's always the same. They'll be back selling in five minutes."

In tourist spots around Paris — including at the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower — Louis Vuitton bags, Gucci watches and Christian Dior shades — all fakes — are ubiquitous.

One counterfeit seller, Rex, who works in Montmartre and wouldn't give his surname, said he was proud of selling imitation Louis Vuitton purses: "Why should I care? There are no jobs anyway. I sell at this at five euros. It's a bargain: euro80 ($99.50) in a shop."

Though 5 euros might seem low, it adds up: Fake luxury goods now lose French industry an estimated euro6 billion ($7.46 billion) euros a year.

But a new poster campaign launched last week by French anti-counterfeit body Comite Colbert signals a fight back.

"French Customs have revealed that some 8.9 million counterfeit products were seized in 2011 — up from 2.3 million in 1998," said Elisabeth Ponsolle des Portes, president of the Comite Colbert. "This new campaign aims to wake people up this."

The spike is no surprise to some.

"Yes, the fashion industry is rare in doing well in the (global financial) crisis, so then it makes sense that the counterfeit industry goes up too," said Jean Cassegrain Wednesday, the CEO of luxury brand Longchamps.

"People see its soft side. But it's not: It costs thousands of jobs, helps the drug trade and also stifles creativity."

The Comite Colbert campaign pokes fun at the public's mistakenly flippant perception of counterfeit products.

"Buy a fake Cartier, get a genuine criminal record," reads one poster, next to a picture of a shiny fake. "With this phone, you better be ready to call your lawyer," reads another, next to a photo of a cellphone with a misspelled "Chanelle" branding.

Six other European countries have agreed to display the posters including Italy, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The inclusion of several Eastern European countries highlights that this is a growing route for illegal trade between borders.

But geographical frontiers are becoming less and less relevant in the fight against crime, with the expansion of e-commerce.

"That's why it's good that online sites such as PriceMinister.com have started to regulate against counterfeit products," said Ponsolle des Portes.

Across the Atlantic, the United States is also waking up to the fight against counterfeit products.

Earlier this month, from New York fashion house Hermes was awarded a staggering $100 million in damages against 34 websites that sold knockoffs of its luxury handbags.

In the case the Manhattan judge recognized the role that websites and search engines play in facilitating the activity, in ordering Google, Bing and Yahoo to stop providing links to the offending sites.

"The U.S. wasn't really interested in fighting counterfeiting before as it was seen as free enterprise, but that changed when they realized that money to finance terrorism came from counterfeit," said Cassegrain.

It's a sign that the world is waking up to an activity, which, when combined with piracy — according to the International Chamber of Commerce — cost the global economy more than $1 trillion last year.
